Being Known and Found in Christ Alone

Can I be honest?

Showing up here is hard right now. My heart is so very heavy.

Yes, the world and all the goings on within are a lot to hold (and frankly, always will be because only God, the Creator of this world and all within can hold, fathom, and ordain the inner workings of it).

But I’m not talking about that…

It is more. It is deeper.

Following so many beautiful creatives and inspiring humans, it is a true honor to glean and grow and ponder in the quiet of just scrolling through.

However, I’ve been noticing a theme.

This theme of deconstruction.

This idea that we must look inside ourselves and unravel the human experience for the truer—deeper—more profound truths of God and scripture.

This idea that praying to the God of the universe and consuming scripture isn’t enough.

Truly, I don’t know who you are. This platform is curated content of our lives. Sometimes authentic and sometimes not.

I do, however, know this…

We cannot look to wayward hearts and sin-stained lives to discover truths about an infinite, perfect, and holy God. For we are sinful, imperfect, and finite.

We must always look to Jesus.

In Him the true nature of God will be revealed and unbridled redemption and grace freely given.

It’s not wrong to doubt and question. I believe these things can lead to deep revelation and beautiful oneness with the Father.

It is, however, wrong to stand on those doubts as a placeholder of truth because we feel heard and known by those who follow us.

It is wrong to infuse our souls with the words of others’ wanderings and refuse to sit with the Word of God to find answers…to be truly know.

For we are only completely known in Christ.

This prolonged pandemic has broken so many and left us longing deeply for communion.

Let us be careful not to be led down a path of weariness and overwhelming doubt. Cling to what is true and wrestle with God through what is hard.

“The reward for humility and fear of the Lord is riches and honor and life.”

‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22:4‬
