In Him We Know Peace
Our souls grasp for eternity,
for it is etched into every fiber of our being.
As He knits and weaves bone and sinew, the strand aching for eternity and longing for our Creator, is delicately intertwined within the mass we call human.
His very good creation.
Made in Their image and blessed.
But alone, this eternal glory eludes us.
Without Him – without our blind eyes made open to His love and life and sacrifice, our souls – forever wandering, reaching, clinging to anything – are lost.
So we keep living, and trying, and hoping for peace in our wandering souls.
Peace.
A promise given time and time again.
A promise we honor and observe this advent season.
Peace. Shalom.

Breathe in peace and let it lead you to the foot of the cross.
Open your hands to peace and let it consume your weary and anxious heart.
Bow down at His feet, and like an alabaster jar poured over you – dripping and drenching your broken body – let peace overwhelm.
Yes, you are broken and tired and desperate for relief.
And the One who says, “my yoke is easy and burden is light” may not relieve the pressure in your body, your home, your heart, or your mind – but here He comes, giving peace and rest to your soul.
The part of you longing and reaching and aching for Him.
Here He comes, washing over you, holding you close, and never ever letting you go.
The Father is here, with His Son, and leaving us His Spirit so we can stand, on and in peace.

Exhale and find your peace in the promise of eternity in glory with Him.
For this day and this life are but a vapor in time, but glory is forever – He is forever.
And in Him we know peace.
